The Delftse Hout, at the northern edge of Delft, is a beautiful recreation and nature area. Enjoy walking, cycling, horseback riding, picnicking, or casting a line. The most well-known part of the Delftse Hout is the Grote Plas, formed in the 1970s after the expropriation of meadows. The area around the Grote Plas is varied and has different habitats, ranging from open water, reed edges, forest stands, and lovely nature-rich open spaces.
